Northwest Region (NWR)
| Welcome to the U.S. Geological Survey Northwest RegionHello! Welcome to the Regional Executive for the U.S. Geological Survey Northwest Region. We conduct impartial, multi- and inter-disciplinary research and monitoring on a large range of natural-resource issues that impact the quality of life of citizens of the Northwest states of Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington and Wyoming (see Fact Sheet). For example, our scientists conduct research and monitoring of regional water quality, quantity and availability, aquatic and terrestrial ecology, coastal and river hydraulics and sediment transport, fish pathology, forests, arid lands and sagebrush ecosystem health, and climate change and variability.
